Scripture: Jude 1: 4-5
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
Scripture Commentary:
Jude is James’ brother and Jesus’ half-brother. He knew Jesus his entire life yet they were unaware that their half-brother was the Messiah. Imagine being raised with God being your half-brother! What a wonderful experience that must have been. Yet they didn’t realize that they had been in God’s presence until after His death and resurrection.
People today have all the proof and still deny that Jesus Christ is God. There are churches with false teachers twisting the Bible’s teaching to justify their own opinions, life-styles, and wrong behaviors. They think they gain glory with this flesh falsehood. Distorting Scripture is playing with God’s Word and there will be a price to pay. God will judge them for excusing, tolerating and promoting sin.
Jude sends us a warning: Don’t play with God.
