Scripture: Psalm 124: 2-3, 6-7
2 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us … 6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. 7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
Scripture Commentary:
Where would you be if the Lord was not on your side? When you think back, you will see how the Lord has brought you into this place and time. Remember a time when you felt trapped by overwhelming problems and saw no way out. Even at that time, God brought you through. It wasn’t because you asked but because He loves you.
Everyone has gone through life trying to deal with problems on their own, not calling on God. But when we reflect, we know it wasn’t us but God who got us through.
There will always be problems but with God there is no problem too big or small.
You can always turn to Jesus Christ for He said knock and the door shall be opened, and ask and it shall be given.
Psalm 124 compares our problems to a bird trapped in the fowler’s claws. But the God who created the birds and you can loosen what may be holding you back.
Call on God and see.
