God Turns Our Wrong Around

Scripture: Genesis 50: 15-17

15 But now that their father was dead, Joseph’s brothers became fearful. “Now Joseph will show his anger and pay us back for all the wrong we did to him,” they said. 16 So they sent this message to Joseph: “Before your father died, he instructed us 17 to say to you: ‘Please forgive your brothers for the great wrong they did to you—for their sin in treating you so cruelly.’ So we, the servants of the God of your father, beg you to forgive our sin.” When Joseph received the message, he broke down and wept.

Scripture Commentary: God shows mercy when we do wrong.

God uses the great wrong that Joseph’s brothers did for the betterment of a nation and its people. All of us have done great wrongs in our lives. God has a way of taking our mistakes to turn us around.

Joseph’s brothers knew what they did and when their father died, they thought Joseph would take his revenge. However, Joseph knew that God placed him in Egypt for a purpose.

Find out why you are here.

We, too, are here for a reason and a purpose. Do you know yours? We arise in the morning and go about our routine without thinking. But try this today: ask God what He wants from you today. Ask Him to use you for His purpose. Ask Him for the spiritual strength to do what needs to be done today. Get up with love for God!
